Mystery

A game built on the stack we're making — and shaped, in the open, with the people following along.

Not started yet. Mystery is the destination, not current work. The engine and tools have to mature first. Consider this a statement of intent.

Every tool in MEGA4 exists to make games. Mystery is the game that proves they work — the end-to-end test that takes Guinevere, Gaya, and Turian from "promising" to "actually shipped something."

Shaped in the open

Rather than design it in private, we want the direction decided in public:

  • Genre and scope — discussed and voted on with the community, within what a small team can realistically finish.
  • Co-created — MASS4 builds and facilitates; the people following along help steer.

We'd rather commit to a focused game we can complete than promise an open world we can't.

Fully open

As with the rest of MEGA4, everything is public:

  • The complete source — gameplay and engine.
  • Art assets and design documents.
  • The decisions and trade-offs along the way.

Why it matters

A game is the most honest test of a game stack. Building Mystery on Turian will surface the gaps no demo can — and that feedback flows straight back into the engine, the editor, and the GUI underneath.

Mystery is part of the MEGA4 initiative by MASS4.
